Translation Health ยท Last updated 11 September 2026
Translation Health is a Shopify app that monitors the translation health of multilingual stores. It reports missing and outdated translations, audits hreflang tags, and finds localized URLs that return 404.
This policy explains exactly what the app stores, why, and for how long. If anything here is unclear, write to translationhealth.support@gmail.com.
Store identity: your myshopify.com domain and an offline access token, so the app can work on a schedule without you being signed in. We use offline sessions only โ we do not store staff names, staff email addresses, or staff account IDs.
Published languages: the list of locales your store publishes, and which one is the translation source.
Translatable content metadata: for every product, collection, page, article and blog, we store the resource ID, the resource type, the field name (for example title or handle), the field's value in your source language, the resource title, and whether a translation is missing or out of date.
Storefront pages: to audit hreflang tags and detect broken localized links, the app requests public pages of your storefront the same way any visitor would. We store the page address, the hreflang tags found on it, and the HTTP status code โ not the page content.
Redirects: the list of existing URL redirects, so we do not suggest one that already exists.
Subscription status: the Shopify subscription ID and trial state, so the app knows whether it should run and when to warn you that your trial is ending.
A notification email address, if you turn on scheduled scanning. This is the only personal data you give us directly. It is used for one purpose: sending you the change summary and the trial-ending notice. We do not use it for marketing and we do not share it.
Your settings: which languages to monitor, how often to scan, and which findings you chose to dismiss.
We do not read, store, or process your customers' personal data. The app does not request access to customers, orders, checkouts, or payment information, and it cannot see them.
We do not have write access to your translations. The app requests read access to translations only; write access was never requested and cannot be used.
The single thing the app writes to your store is a URL redirect, and only after you press the button for that specific redirect.
Only to provide the app: comparing each scan with the previous one so we can tell you what is new, showing you the findings in the app, and emailing you when a new problem appears.
We do not sell data, do not share it with advertisers, and do not use it to train models.
The app runs on Fly.io in Frankfurt, Germany, and the database is hosted by Neon in Frankfurt, Germany. Both are inside the European Union.
Email is delivered through Resend. A notification email contains your store domain, the affected resource IDs and field names, and your notification address; it may be processed outside the European Union by that provider.
Shopify itself processes the API requests the app makes on your behalf.
Scan records and findings are kept while the app is installed, so the app can show you history and tell new problems apart from ongoing ones.
When you uninstall the app, your session and access token are deleted immediately.
Shopify then sends a shop redaction request, normally 48 hours after uninstall. When it arrives, every remaining record for your store is deleted: scans, findings, hreflang results, broken URL records, handle records, your schedule and your notification address. Nothing is retained after that.
The app implements Shopify's three mandatory compliance webhooks.
customers/data_request and customers/redact: the app holds no customer personal data, so there is nothing to return and nothing to erase. The request is logged and acknowledged.
shop/redact: all records belonging to that store are deleted, as described above.
You can ask what we hold about your store, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. The fastest way to delete everything is to uninstall the app; deletion then happens automatically.
For anything else, write to translationhealth.support@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days.
If what the app collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated.
